Surah Name: Taha Meaning: Ta ha
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa aba Recall when We-SWT said to the angels: seek obeisance to Adam-AS. They sought obeisance, except Iblis; he refused. (20:116) |
Faqulna ya adamu inna hatha AAaduwwun laka walizawjika fala yukhrijannakuma mina aljannati fatashqa Then We-SWT said, Adam-AS! Verily he is an enemy to you and your spouse, so let him not expel you twain from the Garden, lest you be distressed. (20:117) |
Inna laka alla tajooAAa feeha wala taAAra It is for you that you shall not hunger here nor go naked. (20:118) |
Waannaka la tathmao feeha wala tadha Nor that you shall thirst here nor shall suffer from the sun. (20:119) |
Fawaswasa ilayhi a(l)shshaytanu qala ya adamu hal adulluka AAala shajarati alkhuldi wamulkin la yabla Then did Satan whisper to him, and said: Adam-AS I shall direct you to a tree of eternity and a dominion that ages not. (20:120) |
Faakala minha fabadat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati waAAasa adamu rabbahu faghawa Then the twain ate of that tree; so they beheld their nakedness, and they took to stitching upon themselves with leaves of the Garden. Thus did Adam-AS disobey his Rabb-SWT , and erred. (20:121) |
Thumma ijtabahu rabbuhu fataba AAalayhi wahada Thereafter his Rabb-SWT accepted him, and relented toward him and guided him. (20:122) |
Qala ihbita minha jameeAAan baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan famani ittabaAAa hudaya fala yadillu wala yashqa Allah-SWT said: get down you twain here from together. Some of you are an enemy to some others. Then if there comes to you guidance from Me-SWT , whoever follows My-SWT guidance, shall neither go astray nor be distressed. (20:123) |
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى Waman aAArada AAan thikree fainna lahu maAAeeshatan danka(n) wanahshuruhu yawma alqiyamati aAAma(n) And whoever turns away from My-SWT guidance, verily for him will be a shrunken livelihood, and We-SWT shall raise him up sightless on the Day of Judgment. (20:124) |
Qala rabbi lima hashartanee aAAma waqad kuntu baseera(n) And he will say: Rabb-SWT ! Why have You-SWT raised me sightless whereas I have been able to see? (20:125) |
Qala kathalika atatka ayatuna fanaseetaha wakathalika alyawma tunsa Allah-SWT will say: in a like way did Our-SWT Signs come to you, and you ignored them, so you too shall be ignored this day. (20:126) |
Wakathalika najzee man asrafa walam yumin biayati rabbihi walaAAathabu alakhirati ashaddu waabqa We-SWT thus requite him who transgresses and does not believe in the Signs of your Rabb-SWT; and surely the torment of the Hereafter is most severe and most lasting. (20:127) |
Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin liolee a(l)nnuha Has it not served as guidance to them ‘how many a generation We-SWT have destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they walk? Verily therein are Signs for men of reason. (20:128) |
